E-Learning Version
Social networking has changed the way we communicate and do business. More and more organizations are turning to social media to increase their visibility, make their brands more personal, market their products differently and communicate with customers in new ways. The advantages of social media are low costs and large audiences, but there are both pros and cons.
Storyline
The staff members at Cutting Edge are avid social media users but are still coming to terms with advisable behaviors. Tammy notices that Casey spends too much time venting her feelings on Facebook. Carol posts inappropriate messages and even Gen Y Dion mistakenly broadcasts his boredom with work (only for his boss to suggest that he find another job). Serena gives Marcus the benefit of her compartmentalized approach to social media management. When Marcus’ DonateMe app mistake goes viral on Facebook and YouTube, Dion’s quick thinking rescues Cutting Edge from a disastrous financial hole, and with the Facebook and Twitter support accrued, it saves the day for Marcus.
